Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 29 June 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Tube Guard (the "service"), operated by Tube Guard ("we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create. By using the service, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, including your password and parent PIN, confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. The service

Tube Guard lets parents search for YouTube channels, approve the channels they trust, create child profiles, and set viewing controls such as daily watch limits and bedtime schedules. Children using a profile can watch videos only from channels the parent has approved.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may set or adjust limits on the service to keep it running reliably.

3. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

Tube Guard offers paid subscriptions that unlock its full features. By starting a subscription, you agree to the pricing, billing, and renewal terms presented to you at the point of purchase and described below.

Free trial

  • New accounts may receive a free trial (currently 5 days) that begins when you create your account. During the trial you can use the service without payment, and we do not require payment details to start it.
  • If you do not subscribe, paid features stop when the trial ends. We may change or withdraw trial offers at any time, and trials are generally limited to one per customer or household.

Billing and automatic renewal

  • Depending on how you obtained the app, your subscription is billed either through the app store you downloaded it from (such as the Amazon Appstore or Apple App Store) or directly through our subscription and payment provider (RevenueCat).
  • Subscriptions are offered on a recurring basis (for example, monthly or yearly). Unless you cancel, they renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and the payment method on file is charged the then-current price, plus any applicable taxes.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices. Where required, we will give you advance notice, and any change will apply from your next renewal. If you do not accept a new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Cancellation

  • You can cancel at any time. If you subscribed through an app store, manage or cancel the subscription through that store account; if you subscribed directly, cancel from your account settings or by contacting us.
  • When you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current paid period, and the subscription will not renew after that. Cancelling during the free trial, before it ends, means you will not be charged.

Refunds

  • Because we offer a free trial so you can evaluate the service before paying, subscription payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods and unused time.
  • If you purchased through an app store, refund requests are handled by that store under its own policies, and we may be unable to issue refunds directly.
  • Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer, including any cancellation or refund rights under applicable consumer protection laws, which we will always honour.
  • We may also choose to provide a refund or account credit at our discretion.

4. Parental responsibility

You are in control of, and responsible for, the channels you approve and the settings you configure for each child profile. Tube Guard is a tool to help you manage your child's viewing — it is not a substitute for parental supervision.

  • You decide which channels are approved and can remove them at any time.
  • You are responsible for reviewing channels before approving them.
  • Content within an approved channel may change over time, as channels are operated by independent third parties.

5. YouTube content and third parties

The service relies on YouTube API Services to discover channels and retrieve video content. By using the service, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

We do not own, host, create, or control YouTube videos or channels. All such content belongs to its respective owners and is subject to YouTube's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or suitability of third-party content, and channels may change, add, or remove videos at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms or the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • Attempt to bypass parent controls, security measures, or access restrictions.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems.
  • Copy, scrape, resell, or misuse data obtained through the service.

7. Intellectual property

The service, including its design, software, branding, and content we create (excluding third-party content such as YouTube videos), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended personal, family purpose.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work hard to help you create a safer viewing experience, we cannot guarantee that every video within an approved channel will be suitable for your child, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that third-party content will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tube Guard and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service or any third-party content accessed through it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tube Guard and its operators from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the service or your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the service or its users. On termination, your right to use the service ends, and we may delete associated data in line with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless a different mandatory law applies to you as a consumer.
